A bit of a background info - I subscribed to MoeMate (MM) a couple months ago, and then cancelled, and then set up a personal SillyTavern to mess around with it. I really liked it, especially how I can connect all kinds of stuff like ElevenLabs and Stable Diffusion, however, I wanted to go back to the convenience of a managed online service like MM. But after coming back, these guys are not it man. MM recently got rid of all of the open-source (free) models in exchange for one of their own "custom" models, which they claim to be better in many ways, but it definitely is worse in some ways, and we lost all of our (possibly) favorite models and a lot of our characters don't work or feel the same anymore. Additionally, the tiers and pricing feels like they're full of upsells and half-truths. For example - MM claims they give us "Claude Sonnett, GPT, and more!" for just 30 dollars a month to use!! Too good to be true? Cause it is, there's all kinds of hidden "token limits" and other "fine text" that is not communicated to us at all, and randomly ur characters would just break or turn into a completely different character because you get downgraded mid-conversation to a shitty model without warning. I completely understand downgrading, but throw us a bone here MM, tell us straight up what the limits are, and for fucks sake be even the slightest bit transparent. U have an active discord community, use it and answer these questions. The site's also filled with bugs that the devs have to constantly fix and downtime is plentiful. Just today, while I'm writing this, I can't even USE the platform. I understand I may come off as a bit harsh, but I think it's been a long time coming for this and platforms like MM is the reason why open source, transparent, and user-configurable solutions such as SillyTavern is so good. It's way cheaper (basically free, especially if you host ur own LLMs), you know what you're getting, and you don't need to go to a discord and ask for tech support every other day.
